Get Schedule Notifications
You can receive notifications of schedule changes, additions, and deletions by following the steps below.
Note that we cannot just sign you up for notifications. You must follow the steps below. Please do not email us asking to sign you up; instead, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Send us Information
To sign yourself up for notifications of additions, updates, and deletions to the schedule, send us the following information as instructed below.
- Use the Schedule Notification Form (opens in new window) to send us the email address associated with your Google account (such as Gmail).
If you do not have a Google account, sign up for one, and then forward us your Google email address as instructed above. (You can use your existing email. You do not have to get a new Gmail account.)
- Specify the team calendar or calendars for which you want to receive notifications (Varsity, Junior Varsity, Sophomore, Sophomore White, or a combination of any of those).
Step 2: Click on Links in your Email
After we receive your Google account email address and calendar preference(s), the next steps to receive notifications are as follows.
-
We share the Google Calendar of your choice with you and grant you privileges to view the Notifications tab in Google Calendar.
You don’t have to do anything for this step. - For each Alvin Baseball calendar that you requested, you receive one email from Google inviting you to add that Alvin Baseball calendar to your own personal Google Calendar account.
The email contains a link that you must click. See this note if you don’t yet have a Google Calendar account. - Click on the link in every Google Calendar invitation email that you receive to add the requested Alvin Baseball calendars to your personal Google Calendar account.
If you have lost or can’t find the emails from Google Calendar, use the alternate method.
Step 3: Set up Notifications
- In your Google Calendar (not the calendar on this website), for each Alvin Baseball calendar that you added (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and so forth), click on the down arrow next to the name of the calendar, and then choose Notifications.
A new window opens to the Notifications tab. See the image below. Click on the image to view it full size.
- On the Notifications tab, click the check boxes next to the type of notifications that you want to receive, and then click Save.
To receive SMS notifications, you must first set up your mobile phone at the bottom of the Notifications tab. For email reminders, just check the box. See the image below.
In addition to a Google account, you must also have a Google Calendar account to receive notifications. If you do not have one, Google sends an email invitation to you with a link to sign up when we grant you privileges. When you get that email inviting you to sign up for Google Calendar, click the link, and follow along. Then return to Step 2, item #2.
seems pretty complicated just to get a schedule of the games?
Hi Richard,
The schedule is posted on the Schedules page. You are not required to sign up for schedule notifications. These instructions are for those who choose to sign up for them. All you must do to sign up is to complete the Schedule Notification Form. These instructions are for information only for those whom are not familiar with Google Calendar, with which the schedule notification system depends.
Again, if you are just looking for the schedule, please just click on Schedules on the top menu. If you need help using the schedule itself, there are instructions on that page for using it. (I’m a technical writer, so you get a lot of instructions. If they are more than you’d like to read, please disregard them.)
Thanks,
Karen
Do you know if the freshmen are playing any games on Sundays starting 9/23/2012? My son has mentioned that his team was but I cannot seem to get clarification on this. I need to know as soon as possible because his select team is playing a tournament this weekend (9/22 & 9/23).
Hi Elizabeth,
I apologize for not seeing your email in time. My computer is in for repairs, so my whole communication network is down. As it is now Sunday, I’m sure that you have an answer to your question. For future questions such as this, I recommend using the Contact form and asking Coach Rogers directly. Alternatively, you can go to our Facebook page and post the question there where there are many people who could answer.
Thanks,
Karen
By the way Elizabeth, the schedule on this website is always up to date. I’m not that out of touch. To be notified of the latest information on schedule changes, follow the instructions on this page.
Karen

thanks,
vickie webb
Hi Vickie,
I’m glad you are signing up! Please follow the instructions on this page to sign up. The first step is to use the Schedule Notification Form to send us your information. That form is here: http://alvinbaseball.org/schedules/schedule-notification-form/.
Please review this page (Get Schedule Notifications) for further instructions on how to set up your notifications. We can only do one step for you–the rest is up to you! Thanks!
You can use the Contact the Webmaster form if you need help.
Thanks,
Karen
I received schedule notifications during the regular baseball season. Will I need to register again to receive notification for Mickey Mantle schedule? Thanks, Scott
Hi Scott,
Calendar notifications continue until you cancel them in your Google Calendar.
Just ensure that you have the correct calendar(s) for your team inside your Google Calendar. For Mickey Mantle it is
Team 1 = Sophomore calendar
Team 2 = Sophomore White calendar
As long as you show the calendar you need and you have notifications set for it, you’re good to go.
Thanks,
Karen
Can you please send me information on sophomore and sophomore white.
Hi John,
Please refer to the Schedule page for game information. Please refer to the “Mickey Mantle Rosters Posted” post on the home page for roster information.
If you need more information, please use the Contact page to contact Coach McFarland.
Thanks,
Karen
