The Yellowjackets tallied nine unanswered runs behind Joe Damolin’s no-no performance over South Houston on Friday May 1. Alvin clinched first place in District 22-6A with the shutout victory.

Next on tap is the bidistrict matchup with Baytown Ross Sterling. Games begin Thursday, May 7 at Alvin High School. Game 2 will be played Friday at Sterling High School. If a game three is necessary, it will take place Saturday at San Jacinto Junior College North, at JR Harrison Field.

The legend for the first round of the playoffs in the bracket corresponds to seeding for each district:

W – winner
R – runner up
T – third
F – forth

Alvin is W22 in G29 on the bottom right side of the bracket.

For the first time in the 2015 season, Alvin Yellowjacket Baseball is ranked in the top 25 in Texas and #6 in the Houston area.

The standings and records below are current as of April 27. Alvin won their match against the Pasadena Eagles on April 28, moving their overall record to 21-6 and their district record to 14-1.

Texas High School Baseball has Alvin ranked #17 in Texas as of April 27, one place above the Pearland Oilers.

The Jackets final regular season game is Friday, May 1 at South Houston at 4:00 p.m. The playoffs begin next week.

Support your Yellowjackets in the second round of the playoffs as they face Fort Bend Travis tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Travis High School in Richmond. They continue the three-game series in Alvin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with game three 30 minutes afterward (if necessary).

The Alvin Yellowjackets are in the 2013-2014 baseball playoffs. Come support your Jackets as they vie for the state crown.

The playoff schedule is posted on the schedule page and will be updated as the team advances through each round. The full playoff tournament bracket is also posted under the Schedules menu.

They begin the first match in a three-game series against Deer Park with the first game on Thursday in Deer Park at 7:00 p.m. This game is at Avon Recreation Center, 601 E 8th Street, Deer Park, TX 77536.

The next two games are at Nolan Ryan Field: 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (if necessary). Gates open one hour before the game. Adult and students pay $5.00 at the gate.

Directions to the Deer Park field are as follows:

1. Take Beltway 8 to 225.
2. Turn right on 225 feeder road.
3. Stay on the feeder road until you reach Center Street.
4. Turn right on Center Street.
5. Proceed to 8th Street.
6. Turn left on 8th Street.
7. Proceed to the 2nd caution light.
8. Turn left into the parking lot.

The field is behind the old elementary school.
